Hey it’s 2022 everyone!
Time to take stock, evaluate your year and plan for your future. There are those out there that might think this is a futile task; but there’s something quite liberating and cathartic to a good old clear out 🙂
Whether you bought too many crackers for the dinner table over the festive season or you have too much clutter built up over the year. It can be especially challenging for those experiencing lock-down because it’s hard to be aware of the clutter that builds up when your environment is the same one day in, day out. If you are struggling to find a New-Year Resolution that fits? Then take a nice deep breath and have a look around your home.
Maybe you have a spare room? an attic or a few cupboard piled high? Don’t be afraid! Go on – set some time aside one afternoon and have a good look. This doesn’t need to be a harrowing task, in fact this can be an exciting and fun time!
Imaging you are opening a time capsule and rediscovering some of the histories of your past! That missing collectable Star Wars figurine? or maybe those old school reports – you know; those straight “A”s 😛
Whatever you find make yourself three piles or zones:
“keep” for those treasures that will always be treasures.
“Donate” for those items you no longer need but perhaps someone less fortunate could gain some extra mileage from?
“Junk” (Hopefully the smallest zone, as we all hate landfill) For those items that are simply clutter and nothing more.
This achieves multiple positive outcomes:
1) You get to relive some precious and maybe forgotten memories.
2) You gain the warm fuzzies from your sustainable charitable donations to a local Op Shop.
3) You gain a little more space in your home.
This may seem like counter intuitive advice from a storage unit firm, but it’s not all about the hard sell.  That said, through part of your clean out adventure you may find the need to store your precious items somewhere other than at home, and that is where we can help! We have very limited spaces right now, but don’t let that stop you reaching out with your requests.
On a final note – a quick reminder of the rules under the traffic-light system are currently as follows:
RED: We advise access only for essential household/commercial items. Please mask up if other tenants on site and respect safe distancing.
ORANGE: We advise that general access is available to all. Please mask up if other tenants are on site and respect safe distancing.
GREEN: We advise that general access is available to all. Whilst there are no restrictions at this level we ask you to please respect each other and use your common sense.
Vaccination status is not monitored or required for entry, please be kind to each other.
